eMetaStar, LLC was founded in 2000 by Mark and Sigrid Lame' of Atlanta, Georgia. Mark and Sigrid, both Health Actuaries from the Insurance Industry, became interested in the emerging technologies of the internet.
Our first product was WrapDB, a 'networked' application for gathering detailed 'real time' data on wound treatment. From WrapDB, we came to the realization of the ability to gather very granular 'real time' data and create very sophisticated medical and underwriting studies.
In 2002, Sigrid Lame' returned to the insurance industry, to help develop and implement pricing software used by Underwriting and Sales for proposals. Since 2002, we have been located in beautiful Bethesda, Maryland.
Mark Lame', now sole Proprietor of eMetaStar, continues his strong interests in leveraging Open Source Software for use with small to mid-size businesses. Mark's philosophy - with a well laid out technological strategy, small to mid-size businesses can become as strong, if not stronger than their larger competitors.
eMetaStar itself, is a model of it's own business philosophy. eMetaStar is not a traditional 'Brick and Mortar' company, but virtual in the sense that our environment is geographically distributed and managed remotely. An emphasis on efficiency, low overhead, rigorous risk management and practicality. Software, not purchased from shrinkwrap, but as a service!
