Wound Care made easy!

Posted by: Mark K. Lame on June 12, 2006 04:37:15 PM -04:00

eMetaStar's product WrapDB was designed for handling a variety of complex wound treatment scenerios while making the process easy for the Clinician. We worked closely with a Wound Consultant and a large regional hospital system to understand the daily routines of wound care. As we continued to develop WrapDB, an appreciation of it's power become obvious to us all. Read on ...

The core of WrapDB's function is gathering wound care data over a period of time from the convenience of a web browser. The scenarios of what can happen with wounds over a period of time can become complex and WrapDB can handle it. What do you mean by complex?

Let's just start with one wound under a clinician's care for over a month. Wound treatment data is organized by visit date and the Clinician can look at previous visit entries but cannot edit the previous data entered. Once the wound is healed, the clinician hit's the 'treatment complete' button and the wound is archived but still viewable.

Suppose our example above didn't heal but split into two separate wounds. When the clinician hit 'treatment complete' button, the WrapDB menu completely changes. New button choices appear to account for all types of scenarios, one of which is wound splitting.

Or, consider two separate wounds converging into just one wound. WrapDB would ask you what two wounds previously recorded are converged into the new. The two old wounds would be archived and a new wound with a new visit date is now created in the database.

If clinicians are rotated, everyone is given excellent information on the patients recovery. A new clinician will become aware of what wounds were created by bridging and converging. Or, what decisions were made on treatment protocol. Give WrapDB a try, simply access the application during our regular business hours. If you have questions, let us know.
