affiliate marketing

Affiliate marketing refers to when someone represents a company as a sales representative.  A simple example, a web site that has a banner advertising another web site's products for sale.  Another concept of affiliate marketing is 'white label'.  An example, suppose Kroger wants to sell their own name brand of toothpaste.  Kroger asks Proctor & Gamble to make the toothpaste for them.  When you buy the Kroger toothpaste, most likely at a lower cost, you really are buying toothpaste made by P & G.  A clever concept of affiliate marketing is suppose your shopping on Amazon and put an item in your 'wish list'. That point on, you visit other web sites that now display a banner advertising the item you put in your wish list at Amazon.
